Net Optics Aggregation Taps. While Port Aggregation Taps aggregate the RX and TX streams into a single stream in order to monitor with a single NIC, Link Aggregation Taps aggregate multiple 10/100 links into a single stream and so offer the possibility to monitor multiple links with one Gigabit NIC. Link Aggregation Taps are also available in models that can monitor four 10/100 lines with two Gigabit NICs. These NICs can be copper or fiber or any combination of that.

Every Aggregation Tap product comes with redundant power supplies and is 100% passive. In case of a power outage the network traffic continuous to flow undisturbed. Port Aggregation Taps are also available with the Active Response Feature when active responses to network events are required, the monitoring port can be changed to an Active Response Port using a hardware switch. The Active Response Port buffers and transmits into the network link any type of Ethernet packet, from a simple TCP reset to ICMP messages.

Port Aggregation: Port Aggregator Taps combine traffic from one network link and copy to either one or two monitoring tools.

Link Aggregation: Link Aggregation Taps combine traffic from one to four network links for up to four monitoring tools.
